Studying a Roly Poly (Feb. 23, 2025)

I stepped outside to study a roly poly - any roly poly. Lucikly, I was able to find a roly poly, since I live in a place where roly pollies are abundant.

I found one that was a bit squirrelly. I looked on its underside; I believe it was male (I'm still learning about how to identify males and females). 

He was adventurous in nature, wanting to get under things (like my journal).

This little fella would always find an opportunity to escape my hand and hide under something. Since I was drawing him in my journal, it wasn't hard to relocate him. 

Part of me feels like he's been through a lot, but it's a part of his nature. Curling into a ball is something a roly poly would do.
